The Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) has imposes a five-year ban on the entry of two individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking activities. The action followed a joint checking operation carried out by LYH in collaboration with the Tsumang Youth Organisation and Blue Hill Youth Organisation. During the operation, two individuals, identified as Nzanthung and Zuthunglo, were allegedly apprehended while engaging in the sale of “sunflower drugs.”
According to the LYH, the matter was subsequently reviewed during a meeting held with the accused individuals on June 22. Following the deliberations, the organisation resolved to prohibit both individuals from entering Wokha district for a period of five years and directed them to leave the district immediately.
The youth body stated that the decision was taken as part of its ongoing efforts to curb the growing threat posed by drug abuse and trafficking within the district.
Reiterating its commitment to safeguarding the community from the dangers of substance abuse, the LYH acknowledged the support and cooperation extended by various civil society organisations in its anti-drug initiatives.
The organisation further appealed to citizens to actively assist in the fight against drugs by sharing credible information on drug peddling and substance abuse with the Youth Hoho, stressing that collective community action remains vital in achieving a drug-free society.
