MOKOKCHUNG, MAY 14 (MExN): A two-day training programme for Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS) members under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) was conducted on May 13 and 14 at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung.

During the inaugural session, Dr Takosunep, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, lauded the MAS members for their continued support and contribution to health services in the district. He encouraged them to carry on their efforts in serving the community.

Addressing the gathering, Sentirenla Longchar, NUHM Consultant, stressed the importance of community participation in health planning, implementation, and monitoring. She also highlighted the significance of maintaining proper records and ensuring effective management and accounting of untied funds.

Watisenla Jamir, District Community Mobilizer (DCM), spoke on the responsibilities of key MAS members, understanding community vulnerabilities, and the importance of participatory health planning.

Imnasenla Imchen, GNM, UPHC Yimyu, trained participants on various determinants of health, the significance of ensuring access to essential public services, and the role of MAS in monitoring healthcare service delivery at the community level.
A total of 45 MAS members attended the training programme.
