Two students conferred Lt John Angami Award 2025

Family member of Lt John Angami family, Rusovil John IFS, Chairman Nagaland Pollution Control Board with recipients of the John Award, 2025 at John Government Higher School, Viswema and others on May 9.

Two meritorious students of John Government Higher School, Viswema, Kevirazo Lese and Seyiekienuo Yongo in both HSSLC and HSLC were conferred the Lt John Angami Award, 2025 at a ceremony held in the school on May 9. 

Family member of Lt John Angami family, Rusovil John IFS, Chairman Nagaland Pollution Control Board has called students to aim for allied Services as it will greatly benefit the community and state as a whole. 

He also encouraged the students to focus on the priorities of students which are work hard, to be inquisitive and competitive in nature. 
John asked the students to give outmost interest and dedication to studies and keep all other distraction and activities aside. “Be wholly focused on studies so as to gain knowledge and expertise for employability, livelihood and sustainability,” he said. 

The speaker also advised the teachers to be fully dedicated to one’s duty and give extra effort and interest to the welfare of students even to the extent of hand holding and guiding them to be a successful and better human being. 

John further told the Grade IV staff to be active in safeguarding the school assets and infrastructure and willingly take responsibilities extending cooperation to the school heads. 

He also congratulated the topper and recipient of John Award, Kevirazo Lese (HSSLC) and Seyiekienuo Yongo (HSLC) to study with renewed fervor and aim for greater achievement. 

Chairman of Viswema Village Council, Tepul Neikha gave away the certificate and a cash award of Rs 20000 (Twenty Thousand only) to both the recipient. He also led the closing prayer. 

Earlier, the felicitation programme was chaired by Dr Visielie, Vice Principal of John GHSS; invocation prayer was led by Madam Visenu Naleo PGT.  Principal of John GHSS Mr. Kedanye Thong, delivered the acknowledgement. 

The award is exclusively funded by family members of Lt John Angami as a charitable gesture. John Government Higher Secondary School was established in 5 March, 1945 by John Angami.
