Executive Director of UCO Bank, Vijaykumar Nivrutti Kamble.

Itanagar, April 24 (MExN): Executive Director of UCO Bank, Vijaykumar Nivrutti Kamble, visited Itanagar on April 20 to participate in a meeting of a Parliamentary Committee during its study tour to Arunachal Pradesh.

During the visit, Kamble took part in key discussions and highlighted UCO Bank’s contribution to the development of the state, while outlining measures required to further strengthen and streamline banking services in the region.

He also addressed all branches under the Jorhat Zone through an online interaction, stating that the bank has introduced several modifications in its products in line with customer needs to ensure easier access to loans.

Kamble informed that the bank’s total business currently stands at ₹5.89 lakh crore, comprising advances of ₹2.62 lakh crore and deposits of ₹3.27 lakh crore. He said a target has been set to scale this up to ₹7 lakh crore in the financial year, and apprised officials of steps required to achieve the business goals.

Alongside business growth, he stressed the importance of compliance and credit monitoring across all branches. To facilitate resolution of non-performing assets (NPAs), the bank plans to encourage eligible defaulters to settle their dues under the Lakshya Rin Mukti Scheme.

Highlighting retail offerings, Kamble said UCO Bank is providing housing and car loans at competitive interest rates of 7.15 per cent and 7.45 per cent, respectively. He added that the bank continues to extend priority sector lending to agriculture and MSMEs to boost employment generation.

He further noted that the bank is offering an interest rate of 6.45 per cent under the UCO 444 term deposit scheme, with an additional 0.50 per cent benefit for senior citizens. To promote the MSME segment, a new loan scheme, ‘UCO Abhinandan’, has been launched to provide credit to new customers at minimal interest rates without any processing fee.

To enhance efficiency in loan sanction and disbursement, several schemes — including UCO Pension, Kisan Credit Card renewal, education loans, Suryodaya Loan, gold loans, car loans, loans against term deposits, Mudra loans, UCO GST Smart, renewal of cash credit, PM Vishwakarma and SHG loans — are being offered through the straight-through processing (STP) online mode.

Zonal Manager, Jorhat Zone, Narendra Pratap Singh, Deputy Zonal Head Hassan Ejaz Hashmi, Resource Head Amit Kumar, and staff members of the bank’s Itanagar branch were present on the occasion.
