UGTIP to take matters to court

Dimapur, Oct 1 (MExN): A meeting for the Undergraduate Teachers Interviewers Parents Dimapur unit was held at Sharon Higher Secondary School. The meeting was called upon to discuss various issues pertaining to the non-declaration of the results of the under graduate teachers. The members also shared their grievances amongst the gathering of about 30 parents and candidates. The main agenda of the meeting was the problems being faced by the interviewers for the past three years.

In spite of approaching the Director of Education on various occasions in regard to the declaration of the UGT results, there has been no positive outcome. Tohoshe who was recently elected as the convener of the body for the whole off Nagaland said, even though only 263 bogus appointment cases of teachers has been revealed so far, there are still many more lurking behind. He further lamented that, some of the highly expectant candidates have reached the over-age limit while awaiting the results thus assassinating their future.

On the other hand, it was also brought to light that certain adhoc teachers have engaged lawyers in order to keep the oral interview results of 2003 withheld, wherein the courts verdict was to cancel the controversial interview and re-conduct a new one.

But the UGT candidate agitators denied the courts decision, and has appealed that the Government should declare the result and compensate the candidates who have reached the over age limit.

UGTIP voiced that some adhoc teachers might be qualified but without knowing the end result  are fighting for non-declaration, so the UGT  intimidated  them that if at all it is not declared and is to be re-conducted they might fail too. Tohoshe also mentioned that, so far no media coverage was given in the last 3 years to this genuine grievance case.

The UGTIP has therefore decided to take matters into their own hands for the sole purpose of relieving the 10,000 or so candidates, by collecting 1000 Rs. Per head as fee for a reputed advocate whom they have resolved to hire. It may also be mentioned that, a total of 2714 Oral candidates are awaiting the results.
