Mokokchung, March 14 (MExN): The Addl Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer, Mokokchung Municipal Council, Chumlamo Humtsoe has issued the notice for nomination to the election of Mokokchung Town Municipality. As per the notice, an election is to be held for a member to Ward No. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16 & 17 of the Mokokchung Town Municipality with Ward No. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 & 18 reserved for women.
The notice issued through the DIPR stated that nomination papers may be delivered by the candidate or his/her proposer to the Mokokchung Municipal Council Returning Officer of ADC (Hq) & RO between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on any day (other than public holiday) from April 3 (Monday) but not later than April 10 (Monday) up to 3:00 pm. ‘Forms of nomination papers may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid,’ it stated.
The nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on April 12 and 13 (Wednesday & Thursday) at the Office of the ADC (Hq) & RO Mokokchung Municipal Council.
‘Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his/her proposer or his/her election agent (who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it) to the Office specified in paragraph (2) above at his Office before 3:00 pm on April 24 (Monday) before 3:00 pm.
In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on May 16 (Tuesday) between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm,’ it added.
