UNC appeals to pray for ‘Naga political cause’

The United Naga Council (UNC) has made a fervent appeal to all its units to pray for the “Naga political cause” on May 18 (Sunday). Similar appeal was made by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) to the churches in “Naga areas” to pray on May 18.

In a statement issued today, the UNC said that “In reference to the resolution of the Naga political groups (NPGs), tribal hohos, and Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) meeting convened on May 6, 2025, at Pruzie (Shisha Hoho), Kohima” it fervently appeal to all constituent units and subordinate bodies of the UNC for holding a  special prayer program during the Sunday devotional service in all the churches of Naga homeland through their respective tribe’s churches association/council on May 18, 2025, to  pray for the Naga political cause.

The UNC said, “This unified day of prayer aims to seek divine guidance, strength, and blessings for moving forward in unity towards achieving the historical and political rights of the Nagas and lasting peace in Nagalim”.

“Tribe hohos and subordinate bodies are requested to approach their respective apex church councils/associations for prompt implementation,” it added.
