
Dimapur, Jan 17 (MExN): The Aqahuto Area Public Union (AAPU) of Dhansiripar Division today strong urged the state government to take action against a group of miscreants from Jalukie low village who destroyed plantation trees and beaten up a person on January 15 last.
A press release issued by the President of AAPU, Zheshito Swu and General Secretary, Toniho Zhimomi stated that due to the apathetic attitude of the state government towards the decade long boundary dispute between Dimapur District and Peren district, the ‘encroachers’ from Jalukie low village enters into neighbouring village under Aqahuto area jurisdiction and creates ‘unpleasant situation towards its neighbours’. The release alleged that on January 15, a group of armed miscreants from Jalukie low village entered into Shikuto village and destroyed the plantation trees belonging to the Shikuto villagers and even abducted one Jonathan S/o Yehevi at gun point. The abducted person was taken to Jalukie low village where he was beaten up severely. The release stated that the Dobashis of Dhansiripar Sub Division visited the victim at the Civil Hospital on January 16.
In this regard the release urged the state government to take immediate action against the perpetrators of the crime. The release further warned the government that the AAPU would initiate its own course of action in the event of the government’s inability to act against the miscreants. “If any delay on the side of the state government which result (in) any loss and damage, (the) AAPU will take its own course of action against the unscrupulous (miscreants) within the AAPU jurisdiction”, stated the release.
