DIMAPUR, MAY 4 (MExN): An unidentified male body was recovered near the banks of Dhansiri river close to Circuit House Colony in Walford, Dimapur on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Dimapur Police, a telephonic report was received at around 10:59 AM by the East Police Station from the Dimapur Police Commissionerate Control Room regarding the discovery of the body.
A police team was immediately dispatched to the location, and an inquest was conducted at the scene. No visible external injuries were found on the deceased, and no foul play could be determined during preliminary examination. The police suspect drowning to be the apparent cause of death.
Following completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to the morgue at District Hospital Dimapur for post-mortem and identification.
