In a bid to inculcate a sense of duty and responsibility, uniforms for MTS/ office peons of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat was introduced today.
During the lunching of the uniforms at the Home Commissioner's Chamber, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, IAS in the presence of Nagaland Civil Secretariat Grade IV employees said that the Nagaland Civil Secretariat is going to start the system of having office peons attend their duties in uniforms which is a bid to inculcate better discipline and a sense of duty and responsibility.
He informed that the initiative has been thought of for sometime and the designs were therefore planned accordingly with officers. Sinha said the wearing the uniforms would begin from tomorrow and will also be given for free to the staffs.
"It is also expected that every peon in the Civil Secretariat come in their uniforms when they come to office beginning from tomorrow, he further added.
The Nagaland Civil Secretariat Grade IV Employees Association vice president Y Sangtam while expressing happiness over the new system said that having uniforms for the staffs will improve work culture and also give them an identity in the whole Secretariat. He further informed that there are around 800 Grade IV staffs in the Civil Secretariat which include fixed employees and regular staffs.
As of now, office peons would be provided the uniform which totals to 567 employees. It was informed that the uniform was same for both female and male peons.
Asela Sangtam, Section Officer, Home Department thanked the department for giving them opportunity to go beyond office files and do something for the Grade IV staffs. The uniforms would first be introduced to Grade IV staffs, the same will be given to other MTS staffs, she informed.
