Imphal | February 27 : Union home secretary GK Pillai will be participating in the 2nd Manipur Tribal Cultural Exchange Program 2011 set to be celebrated from March 4-6, 2011, in Ukhrul district headquarters.  The cultural fete which is being organized under the theme “enlivening our cultural dynamics” has a stated objective of bridging the bond between various tribal groups of the State of Manipur.  Cultural troupes from Churachandpur, Chandel, Tamenglong, Senapati, Ukhrul and Sadar Hills will enthrall the revelers during the 3-day jamboree in the lap of the scenic Ukhrul hills. “Participating in one common program where they sleep and feast with one another doesn’t come very often, so this tribal carnival is being poised as a medium and a forum for the 32 plus tribal communities of Manipur to forget their past differences and celebrate and enjoy their rich cultural heritage together,” ATSUM stated.
