My Fellow Nagas, on this auspicious and historical day of our 70th Naga Republic Day, I extend warm greetings in the name of our saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. On this historic and solemn occasion, I salute, honour and pay my sincere homage to all those patriots, who laid their lives in the service of the nation and our homeland. Their sacrifice and martyrdom will be engraved in the history of our nation and serve as a source of inspiration for generation to come.
At no point of time, we Nagas were under any rule, British or Indian, before the advent of Britishers. We were living as a free, independent, self administrated village republic states, which was based on the principle of democracy and ruled by council of elders, headed by a chief or king. With the departure of the colonial force from Indian sub-continent and subsequent division of our homeland in 1953 without consultation was merged with India and Myanmar (Burma) for which we have to pay with precious lives, blood and unimaginable suffering and autocracy.
Dear Comrades, on this historic commemoration of our 70th Republic day, NNC/GDRN (N-A) stand humble and grateful for all your support. It has been more than eight years since the signing of the historic “Agreed Position” under the stewardship of N Kitovi Zhimomi, Convener. Working committee NNPGs on 17th November 2017 and the talk successfully concluded on 31st October 2019. We are hopeful that GOI will understand the frustration of the Nagas and the wisdom of pragmatic reality of goodwill and the urgent need for resolving the long protracted Naga issues.
Friends, I wish that, all stakeholders stand united and come together as one entity, shedding all differences and isms and vigorously push forward with the same zeal, courage and valour that our forefather instil in us for early, honourable, acceptable and lasting solution. Lastly the NNC/GDRN. (N-A) acknowledge the unwavering support and prayers of all stakeholders, the Apex organisation, Tribal bodies, NGOs, Students bodies, Churches etc. May God’s blessing be upon us all.
