Upcoming artist Angap Ngapgang drops debut single ‘NAOMEI’

Upcoming Naga artist Angap Ngapgang officially released her debut single, “NAOMEI” (Warrior) on April 1. The track which premiered on the singer’s official YouTube channel this evening, celebrates the rich heritage of the Konyak tribe, their ancestral legacy, and vibrant cultural identity.

“NAOMEI” serves as a musical bridge between two eras, reflecting the Konyak people’s journey from their storied tradition of warriors to a modern legacy defined by wisdom, unity, and pride. The lyrics pay homage to the tribe’s deep-rooted connection to the hills, their craftsmanship, and an enduring lineage of kings and queens.

Speaking on the theme of the release, the production team noted that the song is intended as a tribute to a people whose spirit continues to thrive across generations, rooted in both beauty and strength.

The song is a collaborative effort by creative talents within the community. It was composed by Kunwang Konyak and Hentick Konyak, with music production handled by Wangching Konyak. The track was recorded and mixed at Audio Craft, Dimapur.
