DIMAPUR, FEB 6 (MExN): The United Sangtam Likhüm Bümji (USLB) has welcomed the extension of ceasefire between the Government of India and NSCN-IM for another six month.
“Taking advantage of the ceasefire period, the USLB would like to urge all the Naga Tribal Hohos, to work ceaselessly towards the unification of all Naga brothers keeping in mind that all factions are Nagas and are invaluable and their coming together as one will usher in an era of peace and unity which are pre-requisite for dialogue towards the solution of our Naga political issue”, stated USLB Vice-President Tosepi.
The USLB at the same time expressed pain over reports that many Naga brothers are been killed in inter-factional clashes. “Spilling Naga blood in the name of Naga cause is devoid of any logical reasoning. Therefore, the USLB would like to urge all factions to forget and forgive the past and unite as one”, it stated.
The USLB also stated that the Naga inhabited areas in the neighbouring states belong to the Nagas since time immemorial and had not sought permission from any one to settle and that they had been living in God’s own country.
“Therefore, as the aspiration of Nagas is to live as one, unification of all Naga inhabited areas and Unification of all Naga factions will be a great force to reckon towards the achievement of our political rights”, the USLB maintained.
