Mokokchung, September 29 (MExN): A one-day vaccination camp on livestock and integrated pest management on agricultural crops was conducted at Anakiyimsen village for the Mahilakisan on September 28 which was attended by more than 40 participants.


 A press release received here stated that the programme was conducted by Deendayal Anthyodaya- National State Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NSRLM), District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA) Mokokchung as a part of the Annual Action plan for the financial year 2019-2020. 


The resource persons for the programme were Dr Tiatoshi from Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department (DAH&VD); Takalemba Jamir, DFS (NSRLM); Purlemla Jamir DFS (NSRLM); Sentiwaza (AC) and Alemongla Pongen (AC).


The participating Mahilakisan were educated on the vaccination against classical swine fever, pest management on Crops and preparation of bio-decomposer, the release said.


“This is one of the first of its kind programme initiated in Anaki Yimsen village under Tuli RD block. With this training, the NSLRM aims to educate the MahilaKisan on immunization and vaccination of the pigs from CSF disease and to protect the crops from various Insect pests,” it added.


Tuli block area, which is one of the most fertile areas under Mokokchung district, has huge potentials for pig rearing. The area also holds huge potentials for Agriculture and other livestock farms, it said.
