WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 30 (MExN): Following a meeting of the Village Development Board (VDB) Secretary Union, RD Block Sanis, Wokha Town on September 18, the VDBs of the area have decided to resolve points regarding VDB funds. According to them, VDB funds are being deducted from “various quarters”.
A press note from the President and General Secretary of the VDB Secretary Union has informed that after the meeting, the house has resolved that “no deduction of percentage shall be made from the VDB funds as it affects the developmental activities that are earmarked for the welfare of the Villages”. They also decided, following deliberation, that “no deduction shall be made from the VDB fund for payment to any organisation or to any individual by VDB Union and by the Block Development Office (BDO)”. In this connection, “any organisation or individual” seeking financial assistance from VDB fund “should approach Village Council authority for consent”. The meeting was chaired by the Union’s President, Rhonathung Kikon.
