Verdict unacceptable: ZB (AMN)

PEREN, JULY 20 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi, Assam, Manipur & Nagaland (ZB (AMN)) on Saturday termed the July 12 Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization presidential council verdict as ‘unacceptable.’

In a press release, the ZB (AMN) alleged that it has witnessed “several negative doings in the recent past that may be termed as deliberate exercise in matter of handling the Hezing/Kozirü/Kezoltsa/Kazing case by the TPO. The organization, which is also a constituent member of the TPO, maintained that it had time and again reiterated its position that Yanhkhullen village owns a major chunk of land traditionally in the disputed area but TPO “failed and denied the truth.”

Highlighting its position, the ZB (AMN) said it is one of the constituent tribes units of TPO since its inception and had been working together as genuine members till date.

It stated that Yangkhullen (Ze-Mnui) village had submitted their position paper to include them in the land dispute issue of Hezing/Kozirü/Kezoltsa/Kazing as one of the affected land owners. However, this “truth is being denied either premeditatedly or intentionally,” it stated.

It stated that Nagaland Zeliang Peoples’ Organization (NZPO) is not the constituent unit of TPO, and therefore dragging the NZPO, whose jurisdiction is confined only in Nagaland into the issue of Manipur and include therein the TPO verdict as one of the signatory was “totally unjustifiable.” It also highlighted that the NZPO had withdrawn their signature on their own volition from the verdict on July 13.

The ZB (AMN) said it cannot and would not part an inch of its God given land as a result of this misrepresented or premeditated verdict of TPO presidential council meeting of July 12. For the denial of truth, the Yangkhullen village position, the TPO shall bear responsibilities for all negative consequences as the fall out of this verdict, it cautioned.  It has urged for rescinding the ‘controversial verdict’ of July 12 in the larger interest of the TPO family.
