Vevoyi from Nagaland appointed as National VP of NPP

Vevoyi Wideo from Nagaland has been appointed as one of the National vice presidents of National People’s Party (NPP) for the tenure 2025-2028 led by NPP national president Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya.

Other National vice president includes Agatha K Sangma (Meghalaya), SL Kol (Madhya Pradesh) and Pesi Jilen (MLA, Arunachal Pradesh).

From Nagaland, Samuel Sumi has been appointed as national secretary and Avitso Lcho and Philip Lam as executive members.

41 years Wideo, MA (Political Science), last, contested Nagaland Legislative Assembly election with NPP ticket from 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency of Phek district.

Meanwhile, on appointment of Wideo, NPP Phek District, stated “This strategic move strengthens the party's efforts to nurture young leaders and expand its organization. Mr. Wideo's commitment to public service, demonstrated through his participation in the last State Assembly Election, has earned him recognition as a dedicated and passionate leader. His experience in the political field and various roles, such as student and youth bodies, will undoubtedly benefit the party.”

It thanked National President Conrad Sangma, National Working President James Sangma, and Nagaland State President A. Nyamnyei Konyak for bestowing trust upon Wideo and giving him this dignified responsibility in the party.

“Mr. Wideo's continuous dedication and commitment to the people in various political capacities and social organizations, along with his leadership skills, experience, and passion for public service, will be invaluable assets to the party and the people,” stated NPP 17th Chizami A/C.
