DIMAPUR, MARCH 1 (MExN): Nagaland defeated Arunachal Pradesh by 7 wickets on March 1 to end their campaign at the Vijay Hazare Trophy on a high note. 

Uttarakhand topped the plate with Assam coming in second and Nagaland finishing at fourth place. 

Arunachal won the toss and elected to bat first managing to score 285 runs losing 7 wickets in 50 overs. 

Rahul Dalal scored a century for 138 runs while Vipin and Akhilesh Sahani contributed 56 and 26 runs respectively. 

SS Mundhe was Nagaland’s highest wicket taker with 4 scalps. Hopongkyu Sangtam and Khrievitso Kense took 1 wicket each.

Nagaland managed to reach their target scoring 287 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 42.1 overs.

Skipper Jonathan Rongsen and SS Mundhe scored tons for Nagaland making 113 runs and 102 runs respectively. They were helped by Stuart Binny who was not out for 55 runs. 

For Arunachal, Nazeeb Saiyed, Kumar Nyompu and Obi bagged a wicket each.
