DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 21 (MExN): Nagaland defeated Sikkim by 98 runs at the Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 21.
Winning the toss first, Sikkim put Nagaland in to bat first. The Nagaland team scored 310 runs in 50 overs losing 8 wickets.
Sedezhalie Rupreo (99 runs) and captain Jonathan Rongsen (92 runs) were the star batting performers for Nagaland. Hem Bahadur Chetri also contributed with 44 runs while Joshua Ben Ozukum and Chetan Bist chipped in with 18 runs. Guest player, Stuart Binny also contributed 16 runs.
For Sikkim, Nitesh, Varun Sood and Rajiv took 2 wickets each while Anureet Singh bagged 1 wicket.
In the second innings Nagaland managed to bowl out Sikkim for 212 runs in 49.2 overs
Robin Bist made a valiant 72 runs for Sikkim while Nilesh Lamichaney and Anureet Singh contributed with 37 and 20 runs each.
For Nagaland Hem Bahadur Chetri was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets. Khrievitso Kense took 2 wickets while Nagaho, Imliwati and Hokaito bagged 1 wicket each
