Kohima, November 24 (MExN): Eight new villages in Dimapur, Tuensang and Mokokchung were covered on the day-9 of the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) on November 23.
As per a PIB release, in Dimapur district’s Chümoukedima block, the campaign was conducted at Aoyim, Samaguri, Ekhyo Yan and Naga United village where a large number of people, mostly womenfolk participated.
During the event, government officials gave a brief account of VBSY and central welfare schemes followed by pledge taking of 'Hamara Sankalp Visksit Bharat'.
Members of Self Help Groups of the villages presented special songs and skit play during the programme.
Drone experts also demonstrated drone technology and its usage for agricultural purposes before the villagers.
Successful beneficiaries shared their personal accounts on how the schemes had benefitted them and they were also felicitated during the event.
On spot health checkup, registration for Ujjwala and banking services were also provided to the villagers after the program.
In Tuensang, it was held in Alisopur and Longkhitpe village under Chare Block.
EAC Kihomong, BDO cum BMM B Wakhoo Joorlym Konyak and Nodal officer BBFCL Aicheng K were the dignitaries of the programmes.
Village chairmen of the two villages, village elders, womenfolk and the general public came out in good number to attend the VBSY events.
In Mokokchung district, the campaign was organised at Mokokchung and Chuchuyimpang village under Ongpangkong north block. There were sizeable turnout of public and similar activities were conducted at the event, the release added.
