
Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The Joint Council of 11 villages along the 4-lane foothill crossroad in Dimapur district on Friday held an emergency meeting and made a number of resolutions to be followed within its jurisdiction.
In this regard, a press release was issued by the Joint Council Secretary Z Ato Yimchunger and Chairman Hetozu Chishi, informing all member villages to strictly adhere to the lockdown measures promulgated by the government. It also said that any information regarding the detection of positive case of COVID-19, epidemic diseases of livestock and domestic animals will be shared among the member villages.
The council also informed that no vehicular stoppage would be allowed within the jurisdiction and prohibited picnics, washing of vehicles, swimming and gatherings along the Chathe River and the 4-lane Highway. Violators will be penalized along with confiscation of vehicles, it said.
Further, all contractor(s) undertaking road construction work in the jurisdiction have been directed to undertake construction work as per the detail specification of the work orders. Village authorities under which such work is in progress will monitor the works and protect from any “unwanted and anti-social element that are likely to obstruct the progress of such work,” it said.
The Joint Council meanwhile informed that any person found obstructing any council official from duty shall be fined “with an amount not less than Rs 25,000 on the first instance and may exceed above Rs 25,000, as the case may be.”
