A three-day long 77th Sports Meet 2025 of Viswema Youth Organisation (VYO) commenced at John Government Higher Secondary School Ground & Multipurpose Hall, Tewetsoi-Ozwü, Sweba, Viswema village on January 16.

Four khels of Viswema-Kirha, Pavo, Rachü and Zheri are competing in Football, Volleyball and Sepaktakraw.

Gracing the inaugural session, Vitsorel Lcho, Member, Nagaland State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission encouraged the sportsperson to be hardworking, dedicated and disciplines in order to excel in any discipline.

Maintaining that sports has become a very lucrative profession with players in different disciplines earning more than that of a businessman or service personnel, he said that both the Centre and State governments are giving importance to create opportunities for the young talents and also development of sporting infrastructure.

Lcho suggested that young players should not try to be jack of all trades but identify their talent and concentrate only in one potential sporting discipline in order to excel and become professional players in the future.

Lcho also called upon the sportsperson to abstain from intoxicants to remain healthy and also make a humble beginning as a sportsperson and move from amateur to professional sportsperson.

The inaugural programme was chaired by VYO Vice President, Chothavi Mekro while VYO Games & Sports Secretary, Puzakhwezo Khanyü administered oath to the participating teams.
