Vivekananda Welfare Foundation Dimapur meets

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The first annual general meeting of Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Dimapur was held at the conference hall of Hotel Jalmahal here on October 29 with noted social worker from Dimapur, Bishnu Bhattacharjee in the chair.  

Among other things, the meeting discussed the past activities of the Foundation like various helps and assistances rendered to the needy and the weaker section of the society in the fields of education, health and the future course of action in this direction.  

A twelve-member executive committee was also selected for a tenure of three years with Niranjan Saha as the president, informed a press release from the Foundation’s press & media in-charge. Narayan Chetri and Panna Bhattacharjee were selected as general secretary and joint secretary respectively. Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee, an eminent educationist of the town, was named as the Chief Patron of the foundation.  

A non-profit social organization, the Foundation was formed a year back by few enthusiastic youths of Dimapur inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideology “Service to Mankind is Service to God,” the release stated. It was formed with a motive to work in the field of education, health (medical), and empowerment and upliftment, it added.
