Wangyuh condemns Chenloisho incident

Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): Former Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) W Wangyuh Konyak has condemned the grenade attack “on a JCB belonging to 28th Assam Rifle D-Coy at Chenloisho village in Mon district” on August 12 as a ‘cowardly act.’ According to Mon Police, a civilian and an AR personnel were injured in the attack by unidentified assailants at a place called Thromjan, located between Chenloisho and Wangti villages while clearing a road block be landslides.

This is the second time that this has happened, Wangyuh said, further expressing anguish over the incident. The first incident happened on October 20, 2019 when the 40th Assam Rifle camp was “attacked with grenades and fired multiple shots,” he added.  “I want to appeal the group or individuals that violence has no place in our society and that the innocent public are the ones facing the brunt of such unwanted incident...Disturbing the peace and tranquility can only lead to more misunderstandings and hamper peaceful coexistence,” Wanyuh stated. He further requested “any groups or individuals to restrain themselves from such act in the coming future before situations get out of hand.”
