Dimapur: Wangyuh Konyak, the lone Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Nagaland has brought forward certain issues pertaining to the development of the State. A pres release issued by his Press Secretary Kedi Haralu has stated the achievements made by Wangyuh and the projects envisaged by the MP thus far.
On the educational front, the MP has stated that at least five colleges have been earmarked under the purview of the Union Grants Commission. These colleges include Theological colleges.
The MP has further stated that his vision is to see every village, town, city, sub division and district to be either connected through the net or telephone communication. As Chairman of the Food Corporation of India, Wangyuh has stated that he will act on the complaints registered on proper distribution of food grains.
He has informed that a new FCI Complex has been initiated at half Nagarjan, Dimapur so as to house the staff and also to have a proper office at Dimapur since the office of the Senior Regional Manager is located in the city.
He further announced that an amount of Rs.4.5 crores has also been earmarked for the beautification of Dimapur Airport. The MP has further stated that he has ensured longer stoppages of trains at Dimapur so that offloading of goods and commodities will be made easier.
He has assured that the Dimapur Railway Station will receive a face lift in the near future. Wangyuh has also stated he will endeavor to make Tourism in Nagaland a ‘success story.”
While making these statements on the occasion of India’s Independence Day, the MP has further clarified that he had been dragged into a scandal with no fault of his.
He has asserted that he has produced all necessary proof, i.e. statements of individuals in Police investigation and court, ‘so that the people of Nagaland may not be misled by political parties trying to create chaos and anarchy in their functions.’
