WDCCI resolves to ban “Dealership System”

Wokha, May 31 (MExN): The Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WDCCI) in its emergency meeting held at its office on May 31, 2013 highlighted the present problems faced by the business community dealing in certain commodities due to the “Dealership System” imposed by the NSCN/GPRN (IM), and the WDCCI resolved to ban any kind of Dealership/Agencies system in and around Wokha District with immediate effect, informed WDCCI President and General Secretary Abenthung Ngullie and Ynayithung Lotha in a press release. 

The press note stated that certain commodities such as magur fish has been given to certain dealer and as a result, the retail prices have sky rocketed in Wokha Town. The WDCCI also requested the Wokha District open trade enforcement committee which was formed on June 1, 2012 at DC conference hall compromising all major civil societies of Wokha district to help in checking any kind of malpractices/monopoly business in Wokha district, it added. The WDCCI also requested the NSCN/GPRN (IM) to abide by the decision of their Yariwo which was published on April 28, 2012 in all the local dailies banning all kinds of dealership/agencies system.

Meanwhile, the WDCCI while extending its full support to the newly formed Action Committee Against Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) expressed willingness to help the organisation in every possible way. The office also requested every “nationalist leaders” to use their God given wisdom for Nagas' bright future. “The WDCCI also support and show our solidarity to the Ao Senden for the present situation and extend our full co-operation when required and also request both the Government of Nagaland and Assam to solve the present problem amicably at the earliest.”
