Weaving training prog concludes

Pfutsero, June 3 (MExN): A three month weaving training programme conducted by Chakhesang Women Welfare Society, under Government Polytechnic Kohima, CDTP Scheme sponsored by MHRD came to a close on June 3 at the conference hall of the Chakhesang Women Welfare Society, T. Chikri Pfutsero.

The guest speaker, Phoebe Tetseo, in her speech, exhorted the trainees saying that trainings empower people and everybody seeks education to earn livelihood. Unemployment problems exist because people stopped having dreams.

She quoted from the Bible that, “a poorest man is someone who doesn’t have a dream”, and thus encouraged the trainees to have dreams and make them big. She went on to say that they should learn to develop specific skill and stick on that skill which will capacitate them to become master weavers and then designers. She finally said, “Above everything else, fear God who is the source of everything.”

Vechulo-u Kanuo, the Executive Director, on behalf of all the staff and the organization expressed gratitude to the concerned department for the financial assistance extended towards the training cost and the confidence it has laid on the organization. This training programme has enabled the organization to reach out to the most deserving candidates with the facility especially to the people in the far flung areas where there are no training institutions and facilities.

Certificates were awarded to all the trainees. The programme was attended by parents and guardians of the trainees, well wishers, officials of the CBCC and CWWS staff.
