Pfütsero, July 29 (MExN): Following an emergency meeting of Block Level Task Force for COVID-19, Pfutsero Sub-Division on July 29, it was decided to impose “total lockdown” at Pfütsero Town w.e.f July 29 to August 4.
The meeting was held at ADC Office along with Core Committee for COVID-19 of Pfütsero Public Leaders
COVID-19 situation under Pfütsero Sub-Division was discussed and the meeting decided to go for total lockdown at Pfütsero Town w.e.f July 29 to August 4.
During total lockdown, the following are to be strictly implemented:
• All public and vehicular movement is prohibited, except on medical emergencies.
• All categories of shops are to remain closed during total lockdown period except for pharmacies.
• All kinds of construction activities are prohibited.
• All kinds of public activities including agriculture are prohibited.
• Inter district movement is not restricted. However, vehicles passing through Pfütsero Town are prohibited for stoppage within the town area.
• However, the functioning of the Office of the District Administration, Police, Security forces, Medical and essential service providers like Treasury, Bank, PHED, Food and Civil Supply, Social Welfare, Town Council, Telecom services, Media, LPG and ATMs are exempted from the purview of total lockdown.
Contact tracing underway:
The Medical Department gave a report on contact tracing and informed the members that primary contact tracing and COVID-19 testing is going on. The department also highlighted some issues like shortage of technicians and an ambulance. After discussion, it was decided to request the higher authority to deploy at least two technicians for COVID-19 sample collection and one ambulance for transportation of COVID-19 patients. It was also decided to request higher authority for COVID-19 testing from Phek Headquarter apart from Pfütsero.
The members also discussed opening of COVID-19 care centre at Pfütsero Sub-Division.
Focus on containment of COVID-19
After deliberation, the members decided that at present, focus will be on the containment of COVID-19 and contact tracing. Since, COVID-19 patients have been exposed to the community and there is a lot of public pressure for COVID-19 testing.
The Chairman expressed his gratitude to the Frontline Workers for their tireless effort and also to the Core Committee for COVID-19 Pfütsero for their help and co-operation in the fight for COVID-19.
