WENN hosts two-day workshop to boost women’s livelihoods in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) organised a two-day hands-on skill development workshop on banana fibre crafts and jewellery making, equipping 40 women participants with practical skills to promote sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

The initiative was supported by the Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund (CMCF), Government of Nagaland, and hoighlighted WENN’s continued efforts to strengthen women’s economic independence through skill development.

The workshop was held at the WENN office in S&S Building, Bank Colony, Dimapur, and focused on enhancing creativity and income-generating opportunities for women in the region.

Expert-led sessions were conducted by Runway Nagaland, which provided detailed training on banana fibre crafts, and Mixpick Enterprise Nagaland, which guided participants through jewellery-making techniques. Participants received hands-on experience in the complete process of crafting products from banana fibre as well as designing and assembling handmade jewellery.

Organisers said the workshop aimed at introducing innovative craft practices that can translate into viable income opportunities, enabling participants to build self-reliance and entrepreneurial ventures.

The programme concluded with participants gaining practical exposure and confidence to pursue small-scale enterprises in handicrafts and jewellery-making, reflecting a growing push towards women-led entrepreneurship in Nagaland.
