The inaugural programme of the Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme, organized by My Bharat (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Nagaland), was held at the Youth Hostel in Dimapur on January 16. As part of the initiative, a team of youth from West Bengal is visiting Nagaland.
During his address at the event, EAC Dimapur, Litsenthung Kikon, highlighted the importance of the Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme (ISYEP), noting that it fosters national integration, cultural exchange, and unity in diversity among young people from different states in India.
Kikon explained that the programme offers a valuable opportunity for dynamic youth, who are the future of the nation, to experience the best practices, prominent landmarks, and unique features of other states.
"Receiving such an opportunity at this stage of your life is truly a blessing," he said. "This exchange programme allows you to witness and showcase the rich diversity, culture, and heritage of our nation. It also promotes communal harmony, taking into account the various religions that exist and coexist in our country."
Kikon expressed hope that the programme would prove beneficial for both the visiting team and the hosts. He encouraged the participants to take back the best practices they observe in Nagaland and provide feedback on any shortcomings they may notice.
"Whatever practices you can learn from our state, take them back with you to your own state. And, if you observe any shortcomings during your stay, please share your feedback with us," he added.
Ruokuovikho Chale, Accounts and Programme Assistant at NYKS, presented a session on Nagaland, while the welcome address was delivered by the State Director in charge of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Nagaland.
