DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) and the Western Chakhesang Students Union (WCSU), with support of the Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) and the Western Chakhesang Mothers Association (WCMA), organized a special reception ceremony for Yoto Chizo at the Dimapur Airport premises on December 3.
The event was held in recognition of his remarkable achievement at the East Asia Muay Thai Championship, where he won the Bronze Medal in the 71kg category at the competition held in Hong Kong.
The reception ceremony was chaired by Eno Vepozo Dozo, Joint Secretary of the Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH). The ceremony opened with a blessing from Aba Khesoh, Senior Pastor of Faithway Church.
Key speakers include Pretso Therie, Vice President of Western Chakhesang Hoho; Wekupe Therie, President of the Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) and Neiviletuo Shijoh, Finance Secretary of the Western Chakhesang Students Union (WCSU).
The speakers emphasized the significance of individual sports in motivating athletes and inspiring the youth. They also called for increased support from the State Government for individual sports, which offer greater opportunities for participation at national and international levels.
In addition to honoring Chizo, the WCH called upon the State Government to recognize and reward athletes who bring pride to the state through their achievements in international competitions. This recognition would further encourage others to pursue sports seriously as a profession.
In his speech, Yoto Chizo expressed his deep gratitude for the support he has received from different organizations. He thanked them for organizing the reception and for their contributions toward his success.
“I am truly thankful for the honor and the support I have received from the WCH, WCYO, WCSU, and WCMA. I am also grateful to my coach, Eno Hemavi Ayemi, and my family for their constant encouragement. Above all, I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for giving me the strength to achieve this milestone,” said Chizo.
