Western Sümi community provides relief aid to displaced Kukis

The Western Sümi community comprising of Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhkulu (WSBAK) and various frontal organization organised a relief aid program for the displaced Kuki community in Nagaland on August 19.

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 19 (MExN): The Western Sümi community comprising of Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhkulu (WSBAK) and various frontal organization including Western Sümi Hoho, Western Sümi Kükami Hoho, Western Sümi Totimi Hoho, Western Sumi Sports Association, Western Sumi Students Union organised a relief aid program for the displaced Kuki community in Nagaland on August 19.

A press release informed that on the last week of June, WSBAK had appealed to all the churches under WSBAK for free will donation to help the displaced Kuki community in Nagaland. 

The churches under WSBAK came forward to help and through the churches donations, it distributed around 270 of rice bags, bags of pulses, M. Oils, and toiletries in various places such as Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Phaphijan, Athibung and Khaibung. 

A short program was organised at Kuki Baptist Association Mission Centre at Khaibung. Rev Dr Phughoto Sema shared from the bible passage saying as a Christian we should love our neighbors. He espoused hope that such fellowship of relief aid program will encourage and inspire fellow Christians to come forward and help one another which will help us to prevail in peace and tranquility. 

The executive secretary of Kuki Baptist Association expressed his gratitude towards the Western Sumi community. Joined by various Western Suümi frontal bodies, the Western Sumi Hoho President, Shikaho Zhimomi also expressed his support and solidarity towards the Kuki Community.
