Western Sumi Hoho responds to TCU

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Responding to the Tenyimi Central Union, the Western Sumi Hoho states that a tribe is not a political party nor is it a “political Government,” so the union “calling the tribe as anti-Naga people” is nothing but a “desperate attempt.”

“If at all Tenyimi Union felt it a must to support its loyal unit in any way, be sincere of what you are talking about, but supporting the baseless claim on suppositions are self degradations and nothing to gain. The union (TCU) might be highly disturbed by the factuals of what we have been writing, but we have been compelled to reveal the truth by the demands and not by will or intentions” the Hoho stated in a note from its executives.

It explained that the land in question belongs to the state, “because the said portion of the land was never a part of any tribe’s land, but simply because of it being an adjacent areas to a particular tribe’s land, one should not try to acquire all that can be seen by the eyes.”

The Hoho maintained that “we shall not be a stumbling block to justice, but until, unless justice is done to us, however different organizations or individuals supports the baseless claims will not solve the problem and will not convince us to bow out of the fight for right.”

The Hoho asserted that “We are also calling the attention of the people to take into consideration of which we have been written for the last few days in the aftermath of the “INAVI” village eviction. If any person(s) go into the details of how the land in question becomes a bone of contention, then he would be able to justify as to who are telling the truth and who are not.”
