Dimapur, December 2 (MExN): A day after the state government was criticized for the transfer of Dimapur Police Commissioner, the Western Sumi Hoho and the Western Sumi Kukami Hoho has hit out at what it viewed as “interfering in government business” by an NGO.
The WSH and WSKH in a press release stated that the new Dimapur Commissioner of Police, Joseph Hesso is an “excellent policeman” having a “commendable service record”.
The two hohos maintained that Hesso deserves to be posted at Dimapur and sought cooperation from all sections “to make Dimapur a better place”. The two hohos also extended appreciation to the Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Home Minister Y. Patton over the transfer and further urged that the posting formalities be completed at the earliest.
While acknowledging that issues of social concerns need to be voiced out by NGOs and individuals alike, the WSH and WSKH maintained that interfering in the posting and transferring of government officials was “disturbing” and added that the business of posting and transfer should be left in the ambit of the government.
