Rev. Dr. S. Temjen Imchen
Dear Admirers and Activists of ACAUT, Here are some facts and a few of my random thoughts on ACAUT even as we hold the Mega ACAUT Rally on August 25 in the year of our Lord 2017:
1. What is True of ACAUT Nagaland?
a) Acaut was actually born on October 31 of 2013 in front of the City Tower, Dimapur.
b) It is a People’s Movement leading the fight against corruption in Nagaland.
c) It is also a Civil Movement comprising of the braves, clear-sighted individuals – both young and old, engaged on a people’s war against corruption.
d) ACAUT can be You and Me.
e) It is the public of Nagaland under the burden of multiple illegal taxation by different groups and reeling in the face of untold corruption in our state.
f) It is the Naga Vanguard which voices out concerns on the deprivation of Naga economic progress and development.
g) It runs as a people’s movement on the generosity and charity from the Naga public.
h) It fights the ‘Naga Behemoth’ (a monster in the garb of corruption) and upholds certain Christian principles such as honesty, truth and morality in public office and life.
i) Acaut dreams of a well-developed and progressive Nagaland State like any modern state or a country – having progressive education, good roads, bridges, better public healthcare & sanitation, equal job-opportunities, modern-looking Airport & Railway Station, and so on.
j) Acaut is the only harbinger of hope for a progressive Nagaland of tomorrow!
2. What is Untrue of ACAUT Nagaland?
a) Acaut is not a religious movement.
b) It is not a governmental organization.
c) It is not a profit-organization.
d) It is not a movement of individuals who have taken the bait-of-the fishing hooks of the government.
e) It is not free from constructive criticism.
f) It is neither a conglomerate for going against the larger Naga Dream!
3. What is the Future Possibility of ACAUT Nagaland?
a) Acaut is a People’s Movement free from corruption and carnal desires.
b) It is People’s Movement which may produce upright individuals and public leaders and carrying on with the people’s momentum and agenda on anti-corruption - some can become our own People’s Representatives in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) and even represent the lone MP in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
c) Yet, there is a danger of ACAUT losing its shine and collapse of it if – at any moment – the Acaut leaders of today will succumb to the lure of bribery, fraud, and abuse of power. With that hope of a future and better Nagaland – regarded as as the “Switzerland of the East,” here I and all the admirers and activists of ACAUT repose our hard-earned trust on our dear “Naga Dream Movement” of the 21st century Common Era. Long live ACAUT and God bless our Naga people!
