The Almighty has His eternal blessings upon the tiny, special ones. So the children of the Deaf Biblical Ministry, a school for the aurally-challenged, today got a visit from a band, which in 1989 immortalized the heart of little children in a song called ‘When the Children Cry’.
For the children of Deaf Biblical Ministry School, they had, for once, every reason to smile when White Lion paid them a visit. The school, situated at Naharbari village, experienced about an hour of heartfelt interaction between the children and the rock stars – in sign language. Distinct with his sign language, one of the students, ‘said’ to the band, “thank you very much for your visit and we appreciate your love and God will bless you and your concert in Dimapur.”
Referring to their visit to the school, singer Mike Tramp said “It is emotional and touching, and it is difficult for us to react, but the smile on the faces of the children says that they are happy.” Commenting on their visit to the country, Mike said “Coming to India is special and India is a country of peace and love. Nagaland is so far so good”.
The band members had a theme for the children to remember – and an oddly familiar one: “People in the world are all one, created by One Creator so the people should live in peace and harmony”. This was the message that the band gave in ‘When the Children Cry’ more then ten years ago.
Referring to the various nationalities the members of the band each are from, Tramp observed that “We are the United Nations of Rock and Roll”. And what does their name stand for? “Unfortunately, I don’t have a very good answer for that” Mike quipped.
The band also performed a special dedication to the school’s children – the Billboards chart number 3 hit “When the Children Cry’ The special institute for the hearing-impaired and the first and only of its kind in Nagaland also witnessed gifts being exchanged among the children and the band members. The members also signed autographs on T-shirts and books for the children.
