Dimapur | October 6 : Addressing the inaugural programme of the 1st Ura Area Villages’ Youth Organisation football tournament at Diezephe village on Wednesday, adviser sericulture and co-operation, Azheto Zhimomi said winnning was not the only thing in sports but participation with the right spirit has bigger values.
He said sporting was not only a show of talent on the playground but the opportunity should be used to get to know each other well and doing away with any past differences thereby bringing people closer. Azheto advised the players not to be overconfident during play as that would bring downfall to their team and instead urged them to be patient and mild. He encouraged all teams to strive to win without using force. Azheto also told the people of the area that he would always be ready to render his co-operation and support towards their welfare.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Diezephe Village Council chairman, Dovepra and short speech delivered by Veteran Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society chairman, Kevingulie. There are 12 villages under Ura Area and all the villages are taking part in the tournament which will end on October 11. The tournament is being held under the theme, “Breaking the barriers through sports” and is being sponsored by Veteran Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society.
