Wokha BBBP honours achievers of HSLC & HSSLC exam

Wokha, June 20 (MExN): The Wokha District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner conference hall, Wokha on June 20. As per a DIPR report, Advisor for Agriculture & Chairman DPDB Wokha Mhathung Yanthan, MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe and MLA Achumbemo Kikon were present at the meeting.

To acknowledge their achievements during the recently declared HSLC & HSSLC result 2023, Wokha Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) team felicitated nine toppers (girls) both from private and government schools. The certificates and cash award were handed over by Advisor M Yanthan, Achumbemo Kikon and MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe. 

Advisor Yanthan said that comparing with results of other districts the pass percentage of Wokha district is very discouraging. He called upon the concerned department to put more effort and work out modalities in areas where improvement can be made in order to bring out good result. He reminded the teachers and schools management authorities at the village level to carry out their responsibilities with outmost sincerity.

Departments of PHED, Soil & Water Conservation, Water Resources, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Land Resources, Power, Social Welfare, Police, DRDA, Aquatic and Water Resources, Economics & Statistic, Labour, YRO & DSO, School Education, Food & Civil Supplies, highlighted detail action plan reports to be implemented at the four aspirational villages under Wokha district.  In this regard, Advisor Yanthan requested all departments to effectively work out and implement the proposals and projects for the benefit of the people. He reminded the other departments who are yet to submit the action plan to do the needful at the earliest. He also urged the Head of Offices in the district to be in their place of posting and serve for the welfare of the people. ‘Officers failing to attend the meeting without obtaining leave will be viewed seriously, and urged all officers to attend the DPDB meeting without fail,’ he added.

After discussion, the agenda for up gradation of Government Primary School Phiro ‘A' to Middle School, up gradation of Government Middle School Merapani to Government High School, were approved for recommendation to higher authority. The Board also approved for creation of 1 post of SDO (Soil) at Ralan SDO (C) headquarter. 

Later in the day, Advisor Yanthan accompanied by MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe, Achumbemo Kikon and DPDB members visited Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha the chairman inspected the hospital facilities and had interaction with the doctors and nurses.

Acknowledging them for providing sincere and effective health care service to the people of the district, he also assured to the hospital authorities that the elected members as well as the Wokha DPDB members will do its best to assist the district hospital in the out most best for the benefit of the people of the district.
