Wokha Bikers’ Group to spread vaccine awareness

Wokha, September 27 (MExN): A Covid-19 vaccination awareness campaign carried out by Wokha Biker’s Group under the aegis of the District Task Force on Covid-19 was launched at Deputy Commissioner’s office Wokha on September 27. 

Launching the campaign, Dr CW Tungoe, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha thanked the district administration for their constant support in Covid-19 vaccination as well as random test sampling. Wokha district has crossed 50,000 doses of vaccination but there is still a lot more to do, he said, while wishing the bikers success in their vaccination campaign.

Chonpenthung Ezung, SDO (Civil), Wokha lauded the bikers for taking the challenge to travel in hard to reach areas. He hoped that through the campaign, vaccination intake will increase during the special Covid-19 vaccination drive to be held in the first week of October across the district and their positive effort will encourage villagers to understand the importance of vaccination. 

The Wokha Biker’s Group meanwhile informed that they will address vaccine hesitancy issue and also distribute information, education and communication materials on vaccination in Lotha and English to the villagers. The bikers will cover 10 villages with low vaccination coverage during their vaccination awareness campaign in the district from September 27 to 30.
