Wokha COVID-19: 66% of dist population vaccinated

Wokha, November 2 (MExN): The monthly review meeting of Wokha District Task Force for COVID-19 was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall, Wokha on November 2. The meeting focused on taking preventive steps and preparedness for the 3rd wave, stated a DIPR report. 

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha while briefing the members about the district scenario of COVID-19 about Wokha district said that, 66% of the district has been vaccinated so far and stated that DTF have already geared up and activities are underway to vaccinate the remaining 33% of the district population.

Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19, Wokha Orenthung Lotha who chaired the meeting, expressed appreciation for providing the district hospital with oxygen plant under PM Care and Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton for donating an X-Ray machine. He said that all the machines require high voltage power supply for operation which require separate additional 200KVA transformer. The DC said that EE (Power), Wokha has already submitted the DPR to the Medical department which requires immediate attention and requested the Medical department to sanction the required amount at the earliest.

The DC also thanked the bikers groups for visiting the interior areas and spreading awareness about the importance of taking COVID-19 vaccine and appealed to all the citizens of the district those who are yet to take the vaccine urged to avail the vaccine.
