
Wokha, July 21 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha district has issued a directive to all Village Council Chairmen and Head Gaon Boras under Wokha, instructing them to report any non-local individuals residing or working in their villages without the mandatory Inner Line Permit (ILP).
In a notice, the DC stated that it has come to the notice of the District Administration that there have been instances of non-local persons residing or working in various villages without possessing the mandatory Inner Line Permit, as required under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873, and relevant State Government notifications.
The administration reminded that it is the collective responsibility of the Village Council and the Gaon Boras to ensure that no non-local person is allowed to enter, reside, or carry out any activities in the village jurisdiction without a valid ILP.
Village authorities have been directed to remain vigilant and monitor the presence of any non-local individuals in their respective villages. They have also been asked to immediately report to the Area Administrative Officer (EAC/SDO) or the nearest police station any case of non-local persons found without a valid ILP.
Additionally, the village leaders have been instructed to sensitize their communities and households to inform the council or concerned authorities upon spotting any such cases.
