Wokha, July 4 (MExN): To ensure quality of work is maintained and no encroachment or hindrance occur, the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan (IAS) along with the National Highway Officials, SDO (C) and contractors inspected the ongoing construction of road along NH-2 (72.4 Km to 83 Km) on July 3. 

SP Wokha, Aotula T Imchen also accompanied the DC during the inspection, stated a DIPR report. 

The Wokha District Administration and Police supported by the NH officials have been conducting eviction drive over the last one month at several locations to ensure effective execution of road construction and removal of encroachments over the NH compensated land.

The District Administration has directed the contractors and the NH officials to report any incident of reclamation along the ROW or encroachment at the sides of the compensated land/area to District Administration so that timely necessary action can be initiated.

The DC Wokha has also directed the contractors and the NH officials not to compromise with the specification of works along the said road/stretch and to carryout rectification works on priority basis.

Further, he also directed them to submit weakly report to the District Administration in regard to the progress of works to ensure proper implementation of all the works.
