Wokha District Health Society holds review meeting

Wokha, April 3 (MExN): District Health Society Wokha held a district review meeting at Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital conference hall, Wokha on April 1. The meeting was attended by Dr Vikato Kinimi, Director (Health) Department of Health and Family Welfare, medical directorate officials and district health officials, stated a press release issued by the Wokha CMO office.

Dr Vikato Kinimi emphasized on the importance of counseling pregnant women during service delivery. He also informed the CMO and Dy.CMO to convene a meeting among the staffs for HMIS and focus on quality report to improve the indicators. Dr Kika Longkumer, Joint Director, briefed the district health officials and staffs on Health Index Round 4 (Niti Aayog 2019-20) of the state. He urged the district health officials to focus on birth and death registry and coordinate with Economics and Statistics Department officials for better health coverage in the district. 

Presentation on activities of District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit was also given by Lichamo Odyuo, programme officer. He informed that general testing is done at regular intervals in the district and the team is addressing the issue of stigma and discrimination using the church platform.

The review meeting concluded with discussion on relocation of staffs to resolve the issue of workforce shortage at health units, improvement of indicators, hardware components, capture all the data for service delivery, enhance HMIS and more coordination among district health staffs to improve overall health activities in the district.

Earlier, the meeting commenced with Dr Tumchobeni, CMO Wokha highlighting the agendas. It was followed by presentation on the District Health Coverage by Mhonbeni Ezung, District Programme Manager. Reports on service delivery, immunization coverage, non communicable disease, reproductive child health coverage, COVID-19 vaccination status, Health Management Information System (HMIS), Ayushman Bharat- PMJAY, Nagaland Health Project activities etc were presented during the meeting.
