Wokha, November 12 (MExN): The erstwhile Satsuphen area under Longsachung village was officially recognised and inaugurated as Satsuphen village by deputy CM and minister in-charge of Home and PWD(R&B), Yanthungo Patton as chief guest here at Satsuphen village on Friday.
A press release stated here, in his speech Patton remarked that Satsuphen area, a popular picnic spot for Wokha town residents, was now officially a village and the village council should therefore resolve to keep a check on antisocial activities in the area.
Apprising on the ongoing Wokha-N Longidang road construction, Patton informed that instructions have been issued for speedy completion. In this regard, he appealed for cooperation and support for implementing government schemes especially in road projects. He also assured to repair the road connecting Satsuphen to Longsachung village.
While replying to the appeal for a health centre by Satsuphen village council, Patton said, “such requests should be processed through DPDB.”
Council chairman of the newly inaugurated village, Yankhosao Ezung remarked that Satsuphen assumed an important place in the history of Lotha Nagas and other tribes during migration period. Longsachung village council chairman, Khoshako Kikon head GB Longsachung village Hayio Kikon and others also spoke in the programme.
The chief guest was accompanied by MLA Dr Chumben Murry, DC Wokha, additional SP, district HoDs and other dignitaries along with representatives from neighbouring village including a Rengma village attended the inaugural function.
Earlier, the inaugural monolith was dedicated by Pastor of Sungro Baptist church Rev Khumjanthung Yanthan. Pastror Longsachung Baptist Church, C Ramongo Ezung invoked god’s blessing and benediction was said by Raphamo Ezung. The programme was led by R Nchumbemo Ezung and vote of thanks was rendered by Er Thungchio Ezung.
