Wokha, November 18 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha Unit observed ANTA Raising Day cum Annual Picnic with Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Wokha, Bendang Longchar as the chief guest on November 18. The event was hosted at Chukitong Range (NH2), Wokha, stated an update received here. 

Speaking at the event, the ARTO Wokha highlighted some pointers as a road user focusing on various regulations set by the transport department. “In order to drive a vehicle, one needs a license that is categorised differently. For instance, the license of transport vehicles, light vehicle, hazardous goods and excavators are distinguished according to its requirement for driving responsibilities,” he informed. 

Longchar delved on age requirements specifying that one must be of eighteen years for a light vehicle license and twenty one years for a transport vehicle license. He added that vehicles are also categorised into two, Transport and Non-Transport. Focusing on the requirements of taxis, he highlighted on documents needed by a regional taxi such as proper valid tax, proper vehicle fitness, Insurance, PUCC and permit. 

He urged all drivers to responsibly maintain their licenses, vehicles, obtain proper permits, and adhere to PUCC regulations. 

All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha, Vice President, Y Evungthung Ezung extended gratitude to ANTA Wokha for their continuous support and collaboration with ACVA. 

The programme was chaired by Lipenthung Ovung, General Secretary, ANTA, invocation was said by Eyilo Patton Deacon AG Church Chukitong and welcome address by ANTA President, Renbemo Kikon and greetings were also delivered by Y Evungthung  Ezung,  Vice President, ACVA.
