Under the theme, “Shaping the Future: Trends and Insights for Tomorrow,” the Wokha Village Students’ Union held its 74th annual session at the multipurpose Building, Wokha village on December 28.
The session was graced by the Additional Director of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Meribeni Odyuo as the special guest. Sr Fisheries Inspector, Department of Fisheries Aquatic Resources, Government of Nagaland, Dr Nchumbeni Y Humtsoe was the theme speaker of the session.
Addressing the session, Dr Meribeni Odyuo called upon the students to navigate a path and work hard for greater success in life. Encouraging them to be the way maker of their own future, she asked them to come out of their comfort zones and embrace new experiences, perspectives and obtaining positive values.
Odyou stressed to the students on the importance of choosing a career. She encouraged them to not only focus on securing Government jobs but also exhale skills on agriculture, tourism and entrepreneurship.
Theme speaker, Dr Nchumbeni Y Humtsoe reminded the every student must know the importance to studying, have the zeal to pursue excellence and should also have ambitious dreams.
She stressed on the infinite nature of learning. “Education plays a very important role on shaping the future of every student,” she added. In conclusion, she advised the students to lead a life with values and to fulfill their duties without sincerity.
Stephen Tungoe enthralled the gathering with a special number at the session. The chairperson of the session was Nzani B Tungoe and Khyothungo T Kikon, while greeting was presented by Chairman, Wokha Village Council K Vandan Murry and vote of thanks was delivered by Nzanthung A Kikon. Nzanbeni P Murry offered the invocation prayer and benediction by T Myanbeni Erui.
