DIMAPUR, MARCH 10 (MExN): To commemorate the International Women’s Day, Robust Network of Dimapur, Nagaland successfully organised an event named ‘Women in Music Fest’ on March 8 and 9 at Soul Speak Studio Hall, Dimapur with the theme ‘Promoting Women’s Health Issues through Women Artistes’. A press note stated that it was an event to celebrate, campaign and to raise awareness for the “transformative power of women and girls in society with special emphasis on Women’s health.”
The festival was sponsored by North East Zone Cultural Centre. Some of the female artistes that performed on the musical night on March 8 were Akokla Imchen, Arenla, Lensana, Among etc.The speakers at the Seminar held on March 8 were S. Kashila, Atangla Imchen and Arenla Subong. The other activities of the festival included a workshop on Internet Marketing and Promotion of Music and an Interactive Session with the Artistes.
The main themes throughout the event was focused on health issues of women, empowerment of women and the gains brought through empowerment to their families and communities. The press note added that the event brought together women guest speakers, resource persons and artists who stressed on the strength and diversity of women.
