LONGLENG, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The closing programme of the 11th Women Volleyball Tournament was held at Longleng on December 14. The final match was played between Women Veteran Club and Agri Ward Youth where Women Veteran Club emerged as the champions.
Delivering the exhortation, former PA to DC Longleng, Bhamak, in his speech highlighted the achievement of women in sports and other fields. He said that the medal tally of the recent Olympic showed that women brought more medals for the country than men. He said nothing should stop women from moving forward and achieving their dreams. He also opined that society should give women the same opportunities as men.
DC Longleng and chairman of BBBP Longleng, Dharam Raj, gave away the trophy to the winners. The 11th Women Volleyball Tournament was organized by the District Administration & District Hub for Empowerment of Women Longleng under the initiative of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme, in collaboration with Phenei Soti Club under the theme "Celebrating Womanhood through Sports."
