Women’s day celebration underway at NFR

Maligaon, March 5 (MExN): A 10-day long celebration of the International Women’s Day 2020 is being observed by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), starting from March 1.

 

As part of the celebrations, a self defense workshop for women employees was held in the Railway Indoor Stadium, Maligaon on March 5 which was co-ordinated by the Women Railway Protection Force jawans.

 

This year, special emphasis is being given for overall improvement of the working culture of the women employees in all spheres, the NFR said in its press release on Thursday.

 

Earlier, on March 1, a talk on well-being was held at the NFR Central hospital, Maligaon along with other divisional hospitals spread over NFR.

 

The participants comprising of women nurses, matrons, doctors, scouts and guides, etc engaged in the discussion and provided suggestions about how to give better service to the nation by remaining physically fit.

 

On March 2, a workshop was held on stress-free life management for women employees at NFR HQ. During the workshop, senior women officers spoke about the need for meditation and mindfulness for women employees so that they can perform their duties without getting stressed. 

 

A debate competition was also held on March 3 at Maligaon on the topic ‘New Challenges for women in work place.’ The competition was also held in all divisional headquarters, the release informed.

 

On March 4, a musical event for women employees was held in Rang Bhawan, Maligaon. Songs and dance events were also held for women employees.

 

Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer said that various other events will also be held during the celebration, including  Nukkad Natak, walkathon/run for women officials, drama/mime on gender equality for women, poetry/shayari recitation by women and exhibition on handicrafts/paintings by women employees.
